Sara Chitsaz (she/her) is a PhD student in the Department of Geography at the ßÉßɱ¬ÁÏ under the supervision of Dr. Kara Shaw. She has a BA in Sociology from University of British Columbia, and a Master’s in Rural & Environmental Sociology from the University of Alberta. Her master’s thesis research was with the Fort Nelson First Nation on social and economic baseline data for Tu Deh-Kah - one of the first commercial-scale geothermal energy projects in development in Canada. Sara’s current research interests lie in the social dimensions of community renewable energy projects and rural energy transitions.
