Credentials

B.E. in Civil Engineering (Kathmandu University, Nepal); M.Tech in Structural Engineering (National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, India)

Area of expertise

Sustainable Building Materials, Mass Timber Buildings, Heat-Air-Moisture (HAM) Transfer, Hygrothermal Modelling, IoT-Based Monitoring Systems.

Dipendra Paneru was born and raised in Nepal, where he first developed his interest in sustainable infrastructure and advanced construction material. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in civil engineering at the ßÉßɱ¬ÁÏ under the supervision of Dr. Phalguni Mukhopadhyaya. Dipendra holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a specialization in hydropower energy. He later completed his master’s in structural engineering from the NIT-T(India), where he focused on the development of ultra-high performance geopolymer concrete as a sustainable material.

Currently, Paneru is advancing the field of hygrothermal performance and different monitoring techniques in mass timber buildings in different climatic regions through his Ph.D. research. He has adopted a comprehensive framework combining long-term field data using IoT, hygrothermal numerical modelling, and machine learning models to accurately predict HAM behavior in mass timber assemblies.

Outside of academia, Dipendra enjoys trekking, reading ancient and modern history, cooking.
