About

Hello, I’m Annie Lucas. My pronouns are she/her. I am of mixed European ancestry, and I’ve lived and worked on the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən people since 2014. Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my family, biking, and adventuring—usually in that order.

I’m the Director of Clinical Health at UVic’s Student Wellness Centre, where I have the honour of leading a brilliant team dedicated to supporting student wellbeing.

I began my career as a registered nurse after completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan in 2012. Shortly after graduating I expanded my clinical practice with certifications in reproductive health and started working at community health centers and as a sexual assault nurse examiner. I joined UVic in 2014, and since then I’ve worn many hats—some clinical, some health educational, and now this one: strategic oversight, service development, and championing holistic wellbeing for students.

Supporting students to discover autonomy, resilience, and capacity is still one of the best parts of my work. Watching students connect dots—between wellness, identity, community, and purpose—makes this work meaningful and endlessly energizing.
