Admission requirements

To be eligible to apply you must:

  1. Hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum B+ (6.0) average (77-79%) in the last two years (30 units) leading to the undergraduate degree.
  2. Have achieved a minimum final grade of B in an undergraduate statistics course within 10 years prior to the program entry date
  3. Undergo a criminal record check.

NOTE: you may be provisionally accepted into the program with the condition that you complete an undergraduate statistics course (minimum grade of B achieved) by Aug. 31 of the year of admission.

The following courses offered at the ßÉßɱ¬ÁÏ satisfy the statistics requirement.

  1. STAT 255 - Statistics for Life Sciences I
  2. PSYC 300A - Statistical Methods in Psychology
  3. PSYC 300B-Statistical Methods in Psychology II
  4. SOCI 376 - Quantitative Research Methods
  5. GEOG 226 - Introduction to Quantitative Methods in Geography
  6. HLTH 425 - Quantitative Methods, available as an online course

Applications are evaluated on the following criteria

  1. GPA
  2. Letter of intent
  3. Professional experience and community service
  4. References

Applicants are encouraged to submit whatever other evidence of suitability for admission they feel is relevant (e.g., academic records from non-degree courses).

NOTE: No GRE examination is required for application to graduate programs in public health and social policy.
