Experiential learning

“I fell in love with the language and culture in Spain, but also with the way that learning a new language can influence your perspective on the world. I saw that life can be different from where I grew up.” - Elijah Ackerly (Hispanic Studies)
Field schools
Programs in the School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures run hands-on field schools all around the world. You'll bring your learning outside the classroom in experiential, intercultural short-term courses with fellow UVic students.
International exchange
The International Centre for Students (ICS) Exchange Program allows current students to study at one of the ßÉßɱ¬ÁÏ's (UVic) partner universities around the world, while earning UVic units and paying UVic tuition fees. With over 80 partner institutions around the world, you'll immerse yourself in a new culture, develop your language skills and complement your classroom learning.
Study abroad
Develop your language skills and broaden cultural understanding through study abroad programs:
Co-op
