Dene means people, and Dene Talk is just that - a podcast listening to the stories of Indigenous people and telling contemporary stories of Indigenous life hosted by Cassidy Villebrun-Buracas.

This podcast series is produced by four Master of Education Students at Thompson Rivers University who felt inspired to give back after taking Dr. Mukwa Musayett's (Shelly Johnson) International Indigenous Research course in May of 2021. These four students wanted to continue the learning process and come as learners as they engaged in this podcast project

“kikapekiskwewin”, a Cree word referring to a future conversation. kikapekiskwewin began with a two-day online and in-person event in June 2022 hosted by a team of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people, and now continues as this podcast. At the heart of each podcast, Indigenous cultural values in the context of post-secondary research ethics are discussed by Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples who presented at the event or were members of the organizing team. These podcasts are a contribution to the body of work on Indigenous research methodologies.
