Getting connected
Most of our resources are available off-campus through EZProxy, a program that helps UVic members access our licensed resources.
EZProxy works using your NetLink ID and password. To access resources when off campus, always go through or our library . When connecting, you will be prompted to log in with your NetLink ID and password.
If you find a book or article through your browser, you may be prompted to pay for access. Try searching for the item in instead to connect through UVic.
Alumni & community
We purchase database access on a subscription basis. We need to follow strict licensing agreements. These agreements define how alumni and community members can access the databases.

- community members can access some databases and web-based resources on campus
All types of borrowers can use open access resources from anywhere.
Open access resources
Don’t have a Netlink ID? Don’t worry! More and more scholarly research is being published open access, meaning that anybody can read it without a subscription.
To get started finding open access resources, use . On the results page, select Availability > “Open Access” in the left-hand menu. This will limit your search to resources that are available to the general public.
