Use the library

Librarians and staff at the Priestly Law Library primarily support the Faculty of Law at the ßÉßɱ¬ÁÏ.

Members of the wider University and broader communities are also welcome to use the Law Library space and resources.

Computers:

  • Computer workstations located on the first floor are accessible during regular hours.
  • Wireless access is available in all the rooms of the Law Library and throughout the Fraser building.

Printing and scanning

  • Computers in the Law Library submit print jobs to a laser printer (colour and black & white) that is located on the main floor
  • One scanner is available in the library free of charge.

Rooms are booked on a first-come, first-served basis and are Wi-Fi enabled. 

1st floor (open to all UVic students; may be reserved for UVic Law students during exams):

2nd floor (reserved for UVic Law students at peak times of the day/week and during exams):

Borrowing:

  • Equipment is available on a first come, first serve basis.
  • A valid UVic card is required to borrow any equipment.
  • Loan periods vary; ask at the loan desk.
  • All contents must be returned in the same condition as when they were borrowed.
  • The Law Library cannot be held accountable for unforeseeable hardware failure.
