UVic offers a number of programs to help our newest students adjust to life at UVic. Through participating in our Fall orientation programs, you'll meet new friends, get to know campus services and gain insight into how to succeed at UVic. UVic orientation programs are your official welcome to the UVic community--and we can't wait for you to join us!

International Student Orientation ProgramsMonday, August 18 to Saturday, September 5, 2025 The International Centre for Students and the UVic Global Community have organized two weeks of online information sessions and fun in person social programs from August 18 – September 5. These programs offer opportunities to meet both international and domestic students, will help you learn more about UVic and Victoria, and will ease your transition to Canada. For international undergraduate and graduate students, including degree-seeking and short-term exchange students, study abroad students and visiting students. |
International Student WelcomeThursday, August 28, 2025 International Student Welcome will be a full day of in-person programming that will start with an opening ceremony, include lunch and information sessions, and end with a social that will connect you with new friends, campus resources and the International Centre for Students team. Residence OrientationSunday, August 31 and Monday, September 1, 2025 Residence Orientation takes place on both move-in days and includes sporting events, crafting sessions, variety shows, and much more! New Student WelcomeTuesday, September 2, 2025 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. The New Student Welcome Event opens our full day of programming for all new undergraduate students! You will start the day with peers from all faculties, official welcomes from our President and a treasured Elder, and learn from the experiences of current UVic students.
