Dr. Sarah Marie Wiebe wins 2025 CPSA Prize for Teaching Excellence

Winner: Dr. Sarah Marie Wiebe (ßÉßɱ¬ÁÏ)

Dr. Sarah Wiebe’s teaching draws on deep connections with the local community. She specializes in experiential learning, ranging from restoring fishponds to designing policy with municipalities. She connects students with community partners, helping them critically evaluate the world around them. Throughout her teaching practice there is a commitment to grounded theory and social
justice. This is seen in her engagement with Indigenous knowledges and her use of universal design principles so all students can thrive in her courses. She is deeply reflective of her own practice, having won multiple grants for teaching research, and published on democratic and community engaged pedagogy.
